Limoges Porcelain

Limoges is famous throughout the world for the production of some of the finest porcelain during the last 300 years. Many factory tours and gift shops are available throughout the region.

Confolens Festival

Every August, Confolens hosts a fabulous festival of music and dance from around the world. It is famous throughout this region. If you're in the area during this time, it is an event not to be missed.

Oradour-sur-Glane is a martyr village, preserved since 1944 following the barbaric murder of 642 men, women and children at the hands of the Nazis. With freedom to walk the remains as well as the tourist centre, this is a wonderful, historical attraction.

This area of our region houses many of the worlds most famous Cognac distilleries, including Martell, Remy Martin, Courvoisier and Hennessey. They all offer guided tours in many languages, and quite often the chance to sample their wares.

Les Lacs de Haute Charente

These are two local great, freshwater lakes with fine white soft sandy beaches. You can swim, play volleyball (in the water or on the beach), sail, canoe, row, windsurf, take out a pedalo or simply fish, play pétanque or enjoy a round of mini golf. There are picnic areas, a snack bar and also a full restaurant on site.
